Tom Tancredo's Out, Gives Support to Mitt Romney

Bump and Update: Tancredo's out of the race and gives his support to Mitt Romney.

Tom Tancredo Might Withdraw from Presidential Race

Update: Not so fast. His wife says he's first going to meet with other Republican candidates and will withdraw only if he can support one of them on immigration.

Jackie Tancredo said the situation has “changed hourly,” and on Wednesday night there still was a “slim” chance that her husband would continue his uphill battle, which now finds him near the bottom of the polls in Iowa and nationally.

Tancredo confirms an announcement is coming and says he wouldn't hold a presser without something important to say. Will it be just a withdrawal or a withdrawal and declaration of support for another candidate? Or, is it a stunt where he says he's staying in because all the other Republican candidates are too soft on immigration? Tomorrow, by the way, Tancredo turns 62.

Tom Tancredo will announce his withdrawal from the presidential race tomorrow in Iowa.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.

his supporters - largely foaming-mouth brown-people haters - being supportive of Mittster, the business tycoon for whom those same brown-people from south of the border are the crew picking up his lawn?  In other words, welcome, so long as they (a) take jobs from Americans and (b) lower the bottom of the wage scale for the Americans whose jobs they don't take.

Maybe Tommy's looking for a job come the Mitt Admin.  That, or he and his supporters have a high tolerance for cognitive dissonance.

    Romney's Dad Marched Withh M L King? (5.00 / 1) (#10)

I can understand why Tancredo endorsed Mitt Romney.  Noone has a stronger record of supporting civil rights.  After all, he saw his dad march with Martin Luther King.

    Oh, wait . . .

Faced with the unfortunate reality that Mitt was making things up, his campaign has retreated into a hilarious Humpty-Dumptyism about what it means to "march with" someone.  You see, it doesn't mean that you were actually there.  It means that, well, you participated in a march about a related topic on a different day, and maybe you thought about the guy while you were doing it.

Mitt, in other words, was "speaking figuratively, not literally."

    Nevermind.

which was the illegal alien debate on the front burner. No matter what he does now, the issue isn't going away and is likely to elect, or defeat our next President.

job they were elected to do include OHB? Hillary? Dodd? McCain? etc and etc....

And I think you will find that Tancredo's district is very much in agreement with him... although we did have that huge influx of Californians.. But even they voted in Prop 87...
