Bill Richardson Seeks Passage of N.M. Medical Marijuana Bill

New Mexico Governor and Democrat presidential contender Bill Richardson supports medical marijuana:

"We've only got a few days to go, and I'm urging very quick action on the ethics package," he said. "I'm urging very quick, strong action on predatory
lending. I want that cockfighting bill, I want medical marijuana, I want my tax cuts."

Still havent figured out why more people dont like this guy.  He seems to me to be very pragmatic, intelligent and he has some cajones (and its not just his stance on medical marijuana, although i applaud him wholeheartedly for that - especially considering he may run for prez - the attack ads from the right could now be served on a platter) plus his ability to negotiate/work with foreign leaders successfully seems like the ONE major thing that the next president will absolutely have to be great at; considering the major damage the current goof in the oval office has accomplished.  Richardson, in my opinion, outshines both Obama & Hillary in this regard. Plus, he has pretty solid executive experience. He is on the front lines in the immigration battle, which should get heavy play during the primaries, debates, etc...

Why do i feel i am all alone with this guy? Is there something about him that i simply dont know? Or is it simply a case of everybody else not knowing him? New Mexico isnt exactly New York, although one could argue it is much more scenic :)

Just legalize it entirely.  Keeping pot a schedule 1 drug is as useful as keeping the vote from women and minorities.  Booze is an infinitely worse health crisis.

Let's not forget that Richardson was also championing a sex offender-style registry for drug offenders.
