David Obey, Christine Gregoire become Cultists

Somehow, over the past few weeks, David Obey and Christine Gregoire have lost their damn minds.

They clearly have become brainwashed automatons, worshipping hype and ignoring a plain lack of substance.

Their statements of adoration for a David Koresh-type figure below the fold.

As readers of this blog, as well as blogs like Taylor Marsh know, Barack Obama is as much a cult leader and evangelist as he is a political figure running for office.

Sadly, his reinvention of Jonestown has several new residents.

David Obey is drinking the Kool-Aid.

"For eight long years, in extreme partisanship, George W. Bush has governed this country by dividing it," the senior Democrat from Wisconsin explained in an email sent to this reporter after we spoke about the race Thursday. "(Bush) has pursued disastrous foreign and domestic policies and has stubbornly refused to listen to anyone's views except those who march in lockstep with him. America desperately needs a new president who can reach across old barriers to form new alliances that can produce a new era of optimism and a healthier respect for the needs of others. I had originally supported John Edwards for President, but with his withdrawal I am voting for Barack Obama."

And Obey says, "People will, and should, make their own choices, but I believe that, while both remaining candidates would make outstanding presidents, Senator Obama has the best chance of giving this country the new beginning it so desperately needs."

Very sad.  I think Joe Klein and Taylor Marsh should hold an intervention.

Also getting ready shave her head and chant mindlessly is Washington governor Christine Gregoire.

"We must restore hope in America," Gregoire said. "We must put an end to politics of division by gender, race, and faith. Barack Obama has a unique ability to reach across all the artificial divides and divisions to move our nation forward. At a time of great division in our country, we need a leader who will unite us. Barack Obama is that kind of leader."

Jake Tapper and Villagers, please intervene before it's too late.  Save this poor, vulnerable soul from the mass hysteria and blind worship that is the Obama campaign.

Probably the most in play of Wisconsin's for delegate allocation.

Already leaning Obama, but with 6 delegates, hard to swing to a big enough majority for the 4-2 split.

The huge Obama lead in Duluth, MN suggests good numbers from the twin port of Superior. A couple '06 pointers, huge turnouts from the UW campuses in Eau Claire and Stevens Point, and my 3 best Counties v Herb Kohl were in the 7th.

Strong pro-firearms rights sentiments even among the Dem electorate, but not a factor in the Primary with both candidates gungrabbers. This usually leads to a lot of split tickets in November. Feingold way outperformed Kerry. Obey hasn't had a serious Republican challenger in years.

How about local pol support--mayors, county leaders, etc?

Does Doyle have a big patronage machine?

    Madison's Mayor's staying neutral.

Milwaukee's Tom Barrett was early for Obsama, but I don't expect him to play hardball. Doyle will make appearances with Obama, but likewise not twist arms.

County Execs, Judges, and Mayors are technically nonpartisan. They'll also be on the ballot, but only where there's 3 or more candidates for a seat.

In the smaller Counties, Sherriffs have more patronage clout than anyone else, but most are Republicans.

The big endorsement prize by far is Feingold. I suspect Kohl will remain neutral, if her does endorse it'll be Clinton.

If you look at the issues Feingold cares about, it's pretty clear who he's really pulling for.  I would hope that sometime after February 12 he delivers.

    End racism? (none / 0) (#10)

Got a post pulled because I posted that my mom called Obama "Obaba" (Japanese for granny) -- as she was mad that Obama can win. Claiming it was bordering on racism (so if you say his name differently it's racism?).

If that's what the Obama campaign considers ending racism, it just deepens the divide.

She called him "Aqua velva" tonight (she have a very hard time pronoucing his name. Just glad he doesn't have an "F" in his name, as Japanese can't speak it).

    Obama the Hypnotist (none / 0) (#12)
by april444 on Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 12:55:49 PM EST
Barack Hussein Obama is conning people through techniques of hypnosis:

"The hypnotist takes into confidence his subject through his confident posture, compassionate behavior and positive dialogue. The psychological supremacy over the subject is achieved by the hypnotist indirectly through his conscious speech and gestures. This communication will help the hypnotist to gain the confidence of the listener that will ultimately develop an unconscious neurological coordination between the hypnotist and the subject known as covert conditioning or covert anchoring. This state of mind of the subject will help the hypnotist to dominate the thoughts and behaviors of the subject.
The person practicing these techniques will be able to influence the thoughts of other persons make them agree to his point of view.  By using this method of hypnotism it is easy to make a person obey the commands of the person practicing this technique of hypnotism.  Whether hypnotizing a person without his consent is ethical or not is a question that is yet to be answered. The preachers of covert hypnosis claim that learning these techniques will help a person to bring miraculous changes to the life of the person practicing it." http://www.hypnotismsecrets.com/covert-hypnosis

There are a lot of scary parallels between Obama and evil leaders who use/d mesmerism to get people to do and believe things they normally wouldn't. Hitler and Osama bin Laben are two who also used hand gestures and vocal tricks to hypotize and "assimilate" their listeners...

hmmmm....how many months did it take before the recounts were done to declare her governor of Washington? She's a nothing governor, she was a dreadful Attorney General, and few people in this state care what she has to say.

This state caucused for Obama, so she's being a good little superdelegate.  Fortunately, our other supers are going with Clinton, though.
