Another Reason to Vote in Colorado: Amendment 64

Two polls this week show support of 50% or more in support of Colorado's Amendment 64. The PPP poll is here, showing Amendment 64 leading 52% to 44%. It needs a big turnout.

If you are a Colorado voter, don't forget to vote for Amendment 64, for the reasons I listed here.

If passed, Colorado will become the first state in the nation to remove criminal penalties for the adult use and possession of small amounts of marijuana. Marijuana will be taxed and regulated, and millions are earmarked for education.[More...]

Under Amendment 64, all sales of marijuana will be subject to state and local sales tax. The General Assembly must also enact an excise tax of up to 15 percent on wholesale sales of non-medical marijuana, the first $40 million of which will be directed to the state's public school construction fund each year.

Amendment 64 is a step forward for Colorado. It offers the opportunity to move beyond the failed drug polices of the past. Its time is now. Vote Yes on Amendment 64.

has the good sense to pass Amendment 64, will A.G. Holder or his successor respect the mandate of the people of Colorado, or will they continue to display their Eliott Ness impression and bust up the joint?

Also interesting take on the fight between pot activists.   Interesting to see pro potters fighting with themselves as some companies already gaming the system in CA don't want a truly free market system in WA.

As a libertarian I say make pot legal and let capitalist forces deliver it to the masses!
