FBI Releases Files on Steve Jobs

The FBI released its files on Steve Jobs today. You can read them here.

The 191-page document, released under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), consists of the FBI’s 1991 background investigation of Steve Jobs for an appointed position on the U.S. President’s Export Council. The release also includes documents related to a 1985 investigation of a bomb threat against Apple.

to end up with an FBI dossier. take one bored agent, add an ambitious agent-in-charge, mix with a tablespoon of paranoia and a pinch of celebrity, spread evenly in a greased 13"x9" pan and bake at 350 for an hour, or until golden brown on top. et voila! your very own file! should serve about 6.

"Some little jerk in the FBI,
stacking papers on me six feet high.
    It brings me down."

told us a story about how he requested his FBI file when the FOIA passed.

What he got back was a document showing that his file was created when the FBI received his request letter, along with a copy of his letter.

Jobs had some unusual dietary habits, hung out with people we would have then called "Hippies" but when his money became "his" money he was 100% a capitalist.

OTOH, when you get involved with something attacked to the President then you shouldn't be surprised that the FBI investigates you.

And a ruthless one at that... (none / 0) (#4)

Wouldn't it be a sweeter world if the FBI was concerned with the chinese labor condition situation, and not how many times Jobs dropped acid.
