One More Day, Bon Jovi in Denver

If anyone besides me was worried that the big snowstorm Denver is getting today and tomorrow will interfere with Bon Jovi's arrival for tomorrow night's show, you can rest easy. Phil X (the terrific guitarist who is taking Richie Sambora's place on this leg of the tour) tweeted this photo last night at 10:45 p.m. after their Des Moines show. They were on the plane, waiting for takeoff, Ketel One and Pelegrino bottles already out.

36 hours and counting. [More...]

Here's a clip of the beginning of the encore in Austin a few nights ago. Check out Bon Jovi's energy, after playing for 2 hours (and his Jagger moves at 1:47 and 2:28.)

This isn't the first tour Phil X has filled in for Richie Sambora. Here's some of his guitar playing last week on Keep the Faith.

There are still some good seats left if you are thinking of going. These are my seats.

they'd want a bigger bottle of Ketel One after playing Des Moines!

And J, I think you've been here long enough to know that 6 inches doesn't exactly qualify as a "big" snow storm.

All of my friends who went to the show last night are very amped up this morning.  Richie was not missed...

I am too sister...Joe Walsh tonight at the Paramount!

Begun, the 2013 Spring/Summer Concert Series has.

Locked in for the legendary Dave Davies 5/28, recovered from his stroke, thank the rock-n-roll gods.

With any luck I'll squeeze in Eric Burdon & The Animals 5/15 too.

I was thinking of using Eric Burden's "please don't let me be misunderstood" in a connection with "burden of proof" for Ben Crump, this is a weird day, sorry

... by Joe Walsh which has somehow always struck a chord with me, "Pretty Maids All in a Row," even though I was in my mid-teens when it was first released, I totally related to its world-weary lyrics. I guess that's what my aunt meant, when she told my mother back then that I was 16 going on 40.

to be world weary, in this world, if you're paying attention.

I'm not much of an Eagles fan...but I'm a big Joe Walsh fan.  Their stuff with Walsh is a cut above the rest of their catalog, imho.  It's like when Walsh came on board the band's balls dropped.

I got all excited thinking about the Animals, but it's his solo act, yes/no?  His music has gone in a lot of directions since then.  Should be good.

The Parov Stelar Band had to cancel tonight at the Regency Ballroom due to illness. There was not another show in the last few years I'd been more excited for. It was the whole band. Sigh. Hope there's a next time soon. For now, here's some of the Band from Bucharest. (link)
