ISIS Chief Spokesman Killed in Aleppo

This is pretty big. ISIS Chief Spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani has been killed in Aleppo Province. ISIS affiliated news agency Amaq has confirmed it and said he “was martyred while surveying the operations to repel the military campaigns against Aleppo.” Here is the official announcement from ISIS in Arabic.

    First of all I really enjoy all of your postings on ISIS related news.

    My sense is that nowadays most of these guys are interchangeable. I think in years past when the head of these terrorist groups were people who had literally decades of experience, then knocking off a leader might have truly weakened the group. Nowadays most of these guys/gals are around for a few years max before they meet the opposing end of a bullet/missile.

    has cried "Wolf" many times before regarding the killing of high ranking leaders of ISIS, Al Qaida and other terrorist groups. Each time an "irreplaceable" operative has been taken out he's been replaced almost as soon as the story was delivered.

    But, this guy, al-Adnani, really was different. From what I've read, and what I know about organizations, al-Adnani was one of those gifted leader-soldiers who truly will be almost impossible to replace. He was so effective in so many areas it will, probably, take a half dozen trained, skilled, and experienced operatives to replace the many unique skills al-Adnani had, especially in the area of clandestine operations outside of the Syria theatre.

    These are places where the United States might believe it has few, if any, options. Targeting terrorist leaders might not make much difference, but it is cheap, it is low risk for the United States (though not always for civilians in the vicinity of strikes), and it allows American leaders to credibly say they are doing something. But there is little evidence that these deaths, whatever their political value in the United States, make much of a difference on the ground.
     I agree with the article.  The US doesn't have a large population of unhappy Muslims in the slums.  The only reason it is attacked is it keeps meddling in predominantly Muslim areas.

    your victim blaming. i also disagree with your assertion that it is our meddlesome actions that enrage moslems to become terrorists. because that's not what the terrorists say. they say they want to kill us for not being moslem and they want to kill moslems for not being good moslems.

A Muslim in Arabic means"one who gives himself to God," and is by definition, someone who adheres to Islam. By contrast, a Moslem in Arabic means"one who is evil and unjust" when the word is pronounced, as it is in English, Mozlem with a z.

    recently provided actual writings by an actual terrorist who stated why they hate and ehy they kill us. it was right here on this blog. i read it and believed it. im not inclined to google what random people on the internet post as speculation when i have already been provided with legitimate analysis on this blog that included what the terrorists themselves state. does that sound reasonable?
