How many Indictments does this make? Michael Avenatti has been charged in new indictments with ripping off Stormy Daniels and his extortionist threats to Nike.

What are the odds he can beat all of them?

The Nike extortion Indictment has dozens of references to "CC-1, who is attorney Mark Geragos. Geragos retained Ben Brafman after the failed power play made the news. It seems to me that Brafman did an amazing job keeping Geragos from getting indicted.

    "it is said" accusation without the source being mentioned or a link allowing its credibility to be assessed. I wish you wouldn't do that, SUA. I know I don't make the rules here, but speaking for myself, I really wish you wouldn't.

    ... since I didn't perceive it as a joke. Of course, as a criminal  defense lawyer who comments on a criminal defense site, I don't typically think of making fun of people who have just been charged with serious crimes. I am more inclined to ask whether the government is targeting them for being a vocal critic of the so-called President and whether their rights are being protected.

    from the other day originated from the WSJ and was being reported on by dozens, nay, hundreds, of news outlets. I didn't think a specific link was all that necessary.

    And, really, it was an "inflammatory accusation?!"

    Please.

    But OK, in the future I'll provide links, even if I think they are unnecessary.

    fwiw, I am reporting the kid I referred to re: Gtown played on a couple youth sports teams with my kid, back in the day. Seemed like a nice enough kid. Parents seemed nice too. Can't link to myself.
