Trump's Poll Numbers Decline Further

Donald Trump's approval rating keeps on slipping. A new Quinnipiac University national poll released today (and conducted before Comey's firing)reports a 58 percent job disappproval rating. His approval rating is 36%.

Among the big losses: "white voters with no college degree, white men and independent voters."

  • 66% believe he is not level-headed
  • 64% believe he does not share their values
  • 61% believe he is not honest.
  • 59% believe he doesn't care about average Americans.

On policy matters,

  • 62% disapprove of the way he is handling immigration.
  • 58% believe his first 100 days are a failure
  • 65% disapproves of the way he talks about the media
  • 54% want Democrats to control the House

Quinnipiac says:

This is the widest margin ever measured for this question in a University poll, exceeding a 5 percentage point margin for Republicans in 2013.
  • 71% disapprove of the way Republicans in Congress are doing there job, while
  • 54% disapprove of the way Democrats in Congress are doing there job

According to Qunnipiac, there's no way to spin these numbers:

"There is no way to spin or sugarcoat these sagging numbers," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "The erosion of white men, white voters without college degrees and independent voters, the declaration by voters that President Donald Trump's first 100 days were mainly a failure and deepening concerns about Trump's honesty, intelligence and level headedness are red flags that the administration simply can't brush away," Malloy added.

that misogyny may be the more toxic....few acknowledge it even exists, and is thus harder to address.

correct on that point. It is so insidious and so acceptable that people don't even realize they are spreading it.

You know, I saw an article about Kirsten Gillibrand in the NYT and they were accusing her of "scheming". Now with a man they would have never said that. It's sad.

Trump would win again.  All that has happened is the haters hate him even more.

you're afraid of my opinions because they're different from yours.  You throw insults because you can't come up with a legitimate argument.

The best way to show you don't take someone seriously is to ignore them.
