The House Rules Committee has announced that the Impeachment Debate will begin Wednesday morning. There will be 6 hours of argument allowed.

The vote is expected around 6:30 to 7:30 this evening. You can watch live here.

The 658 page Impeachment Report by the House Judiciary Committee is here.

The only proposed pending amendment is a non-starter hair-brain proposal not worth the time to read. Only a Republican in a place like Alabama would come up with this. Like a child who gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar and tells his mother "But he did it too", the amendment seeks a statement by Congress that by the standard being used for Trump, Obama and Holder should have been impeached as well for refusing a subpoena in Fast and Furious. Like I said, a non-starter not worth giving its author attention by naming him.

That was the Rules committee that started at 11 yesterday.

I think the actual floor vote starts at 9eastern this morning.

The whole House will gather to begin debating on two articles of impeachment at 9 a.m. But don't expect a result too soon after. Members will have six hours to debate, and the final vote is predicted to take place between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

started this morning. After lots of Republican delays.

The vote still has not started, as of about 7:30 p.m. in D.C., but it's supposed to be soon. Unless the Dems do a Nadler and put it off `til tomorrow, making members who caused lots of delays today then delay their departures for the holidays.

She has the very definition of a safe seat. A lifetime if she so chooses.
As such, I've been disappointed that she hasn't put herself at the forefront of more progressive issues.

Barry Loudermilk (R. GA), says Trump's impeachment is worse than Jesus's crucifixion.

... Trump's impeachment to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Oh, the humanity, the hyperbole.

And wasn't it just yesterday that both Trump and the Republicans were claiming that the defendants in the Salem, MA witchcraft trials (1692-93) got a better deal than Trump was getting from House Democrats?

Oh, and for the record, over 200 people were accused of witchcraft and sorcery in Salem upon the introduction of spectral evidence back in 1692-93. Of that number, 14 women and 5 men were found guilty and executed by hanging, another man was effectively tortured to death via stone pressing for having repeatedly refused to enter a plea at his arraignment, and three of the five people convicted and sentenced to prison died while incarcerated.

Some deal, eh?

I wasn't in favor of impeachment until recently. But Trump's continued egregious misconduct has really left us with no choice. And further, given its members' comments today on the House floor, Republicans have quite obvious made the conscious choice to recast their party in Trump's image and embrace him unequivocally as their authoritarian daddy-figure.

I can't help but believe that the outright lies and disingenuous fiction being offered today in the House GOP's counter-narrative aren't going unnoticed by most Americans and that come Nov. 2020, Republicans are going bitterly rue the day they decided to lash themselves to Trump's mainmast in this particular storm.

Maybe the House minority leader can clarify why his campaign accepted campaign contributions from Rudy Giuliani's indicted associate Lev Parnas.

Additionally, McCarthy's PAC accepted $111,000 in campaign donations from Parnas and fellow Giuliani associate Igor Fruman, which he promised to give away after the two were caught at Dulles Airport while awaiting a flight to Europe with one-way tickets.

As I said earlier, it's not just Trump's hands that are dirty here.

... the House of Representatives has impeached the President of the United States. It is telling that Speaker Pelosi suddenly looked to her caucus and with a sharp glare and hand gesture cowed them into a collective silence when the first murmurs of cheers started to arise upon the adoption of the first impeachment resolution.

My representative, Tulsi Gabbard, has voted present on both articles. What the fck is she thinking? Oh, who cares? Good riddance to her.

Democrats did the right thing.

new title should be bestowed, The Impeached President, Trump. This should supplant previous references, e.g. bone spurs, orange menace, etc. Hopefully, this designation will not only label him among Americans, but also, tarnish the gold he digs.
